Mobile communication is a radio communication in a special environment.The wireless channel is the medium of information transmission and an essential part of the mobile communication system.The quality of wireless channel directly determines the quality of mobile communication.The characteristics of the mobile communication channel openness and user mobility will inevitably lead to increase the complexity of the mobile communication system design.Therefore,it is very important to study the radio channel-the transmission environment of wireless communications.There are many methods for the research of the wireless channel and one effective method is to establish the fading channel model of the wireless communication system,meanwhile thoroughly analyze and research into the fading channel's related characteristics and mobile communication system's related characteristics in order to reveal more detailed rules of the wireless signal propagation.It has a vital significance for the theory research and project application.In the modelling simulation of the wireless fading channel,the most typical application is the quick decline obeying the Rayleigh distributed model which has made certain supposition for the spreading process.Based on the Rayleigh distributed model,there appears a variety of the modified and improved Rayleigh distributed model.This paper firstly introduces the characteristics of the wireless fading channel and then analyzes the statistical property of the Rayleigh distributed channel model and the improved Rayleigh distributed channel. On this basis,this paper proposes the design scheme of the flat fading channel and the frequency-selective fading channel based on FPGA and implements the flat fading channel simulator and the frequency selectivity fading channel based on FPGA.This paper gives the the test plan of the system performance,in which by processing the output datas of the fading channel simulator based on FPGA to obtain the statistical properties of the channel.In addition,it also gives the simulation results of the statistical properties of the fading channel.The experimental results show that:The performance of the flat fading channel and the frequency selectivity fading channel implemented by the FPGA is consistent with the simulation performance.Then it proves the validity and reliability of the implementation system. Although there are a lot of research results on the modelling of the wireless fading channels,there is not a lot literature about the implementation of the wireless fading channel simulator based on FPGA.So the design scheme of this paper is the preliminary study of the wireless fading channel simulator which has some reference value in the actual project application.
