Research On Death Penalty Reports On Internet And Netizens’ Opinion

With People and Sina Weibo as research subjects and multi-casestudying and content analysis as method, this paper works on the featuresof news reports on death penalty and related netizens’ opinion,investigates the characteristics of Internet coverages and netizens’cognition to law and life, reflects on the relationship between networkmedia, netizens’ opinion, legal justice and moral ethics, explores the newmanifestations of Communication theories in network environment, andprobes on the practical significance of the theories. By randomly drawingthe news reports on People and posts on Sina Weibo published between2010and2012as samples and making statistical analysis, this paper findsout the features of news reports on death penalty and netizens’ opinion onit, and researches the causes and effects on classic Communicationtheories. Meanwhile, this paper also analyzes the practical meaningbrought about by network media to the legal construction, cultureevolution and social progress, so as to know society and human in a betterway.
