Design Of High-definition Urban Public Security Video Surveillance System And Its Key Technology Research

As China’s economic growth continues and its cities urbanize, more andmore people are moving into medium-and large-sized cities. Security videosurveillance is an important part of city development and management. Undernew historical conditions, designing video surveillance systems andimproving cities’ security have high strategic importance for the country interms of public safety, disasters prevention and control, and protection ofcitizens’ lives and their private assets.Nowdays traditional surveillance methods are no longer able to meetincreasing city management needs due to low definition and few analyticalcapabilities. Local governments need better and stabler surveillance systemsto ensure public safety.This paper lays out a broad design of a suitable security system forJing’an District’s Smart City, based on research on developments inhigh-definition video surveillance technology, related management andpractices. Specifically, it includes:(1) an initial design proposal based onJing’an District’s current security conditions and resource needs,(2) SpecificRequirements Analysis and key implementation technology, and (3)recommendations for tackling key issues in terms of data storage and webmanagement.Our system is now fully implemented and has performed well accordingto initial expectations. The purpose of this paper is to provide a detailedexplanation of our system, such that it may serve as a useful point ofreference for designing similar systems in the future.
