Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) is a supplement to the production plan based onthe traditional Enterprise Resources Planning System (ERP), which provides more efficient andaccurate production plans to the enterprises with capacity constraints. Currently, there arevarious types of algorithms for APS. Research has been conducted by enterprises both abroadand at home based on these algorithms, such as IBM, SAP, Oracle, and other large scale ERPmanufacturers. All of these manufacturers have their own mature products, which have alreadygained popularity in a specific field. Yet they need to combine with the practical productionprocess in order to provide instructions to production.Power plant manufacturing is a capital centralized industry with complicatedmanufacturing process. The manufacturing facilities are expensive and it requires multi-plantenvironment. Enterprises should improve their competitiveness through making the best use oftheir resources. Therefore, an accurate and feasible production plan plays a decisive role in thedevelopment of a power plant manufacturing enterprise.Based on the features of the power plant manufacturing enterprises, this research is aimingat design a production plan for the product of IBM ILOG ODME with appropriate algorithm,production, and their original ERP system data. By adopting this production plan, the profitsof the enterprises will be maximized.This paper is based on the APS Phase1project of Shanghai Electronic Power GenerationCroup (SECPG), which is the largest domestic power plant manufacturer. After theaccomplishment of the project, it will be operating at the factories near the port. It will improvethe timeliness, accuracy, and rationality of the production plan by a large margin. The innovation of this paper lies in the selection of mature productions and algorithm, the modelingbased on practical conditions, and the design of APS with the pre-existing system integrationof ERP. An effective solution targeting at the practical production planning and scheduling isprovided.
