With the integrated circuit technology developping to deep sub-micron, smartphones become increasingly popular. At the same time, the application of smartphones is becoming more and more widely, such as micro-payment, public transportcards, merchandise security and so on. Integrate these applications in the mobilephone has become an exigent demand. Philips and other companies have proposedNFC (Near Field Communication) proximal wireless communication protocols, which make it possible to realize close mobile payment on the phone.Mobile payment needs the support of the security chip. Today there are twoways to achieve it. One is through a security chip installing on the phone, the otherone is installing the security chip on the SIM card of mobile phones. The solution ofinstalling a security chip on the SIM card facilitates to the mobile operators, whichmake it a big trend. Close non-contact communication needs radio frequencycommunications, so the SIM card requires to realize communicating with the RFreceiving and transmitting equipment on the mobile phone. Moreover, the pins onthe SIM card are only8, so it demands to use the pins as few as possible whentransmitting data between mobile phone and SIM card. The single wire protocol(SWP) only needs a data port to realize full-duplex communication between twodevices. This article designs a chip module of slave device controller with SWPinterface. This article uses a180nm process to design SWP slave device controller. Itcontains the analysis of the SWP interface protocol, hardware and softwaredivision of the SWP slave device, build ing the behavior and models of SWP slavedevice and master device, writing the design and verification documents, usingsynthesis hardware description language to design the SWP slave device controller,a comprehensive functional verification on it, and making a synthesis.
