In this paper, we take the project of P3robot, a design project from TianjinUniversity, Department of Industrial Design, as the case. Using IFR, technologyconflict resolution method and need system evolution theory of TRIZ to realize theinterface optimization of P3robot, seeking and evaluating the best solution byapplying TRIZ to industrial design practice. The purpose of this paper is to get off the"machine-centered" situation by giving full consideration of human andenvironmental factors, promote the coordination of human-machine-environment inproduction link, and make it visible for strong identification. At the same time,increase productivity, reduce accidents and enhance the reliability of the P3robot.And finally liberate labor force by interface optimization.The main research methods of this proposed project is:Firstly, to determine the final design target, we use5H2W to interview expertusers at the beginning of the study. Then by using the method of questionnaire surveyto investigate the importance of the objective factors, find out the ideal state whenmeet the final design target. And point out the interface optimization problems to besolved of P3robot on the basis of IFR analysis.Secondly, in the problem analysis progress, we should fully apply knowledge ofergonomics and human-computer interface, study on the relationship among users,environment and product to find out the causes of the problem. Using of theevolutionary theory of needs to put forward the user’s existing and future needs,indicating the evolutionary direction of P3robot interface.At the end of the paper, based on earlier analysis and study we will find out theproper solution and prove the correctness of it. And show the design program throughRhino and3D renderings in the paper.The main thesis of this research is to apply TRIZ innovation theory to the P3robot interface optimization practice. We use the innovative methods in the progressof problems posing, problems analyzing and problems solving instead of thetraditional intuitional methods to ensure the research results with the sense of rigor,clarity and comprehensiveness. We will create the design solutions that meet user needs, have image recognition, and fit the manufacturing mode of modernmanufactures.And in this way the data is obtained for supporting the further robotinterface optimization. This research can also provide referential basis for thegradually application of TRIZ into Industrial Design.
