Today, the Internet is developing very fast, operation and management of the hotelindustry is moving towards a new direction, the hotel’s intelligent control, personalizedbusiness, management, information technology challenges of the past, traditional hotelbusiness model. How to promote the competitiveness of hotel, to achieve differentiatedservices, how to make guests convenient and quick access to information and services,all managers in the hotel industry must think about it deeply. Hotel managementinformation system makes the hotel management and operations becoming moreconvenient and efficient. However, in the wake of the developments in the Internet andthe new technologies, the traditional C/S structure of hotel management informationsystem has been unable to meet the requirements of hotel for new business developmentas well as the system becoming higher, friendlier human-computer interaction. It isnecessary to develop a user-friendly, intelligent personalized hotel managementinformation system based on B/S structure and combined with today’s Internet and newtechnologies.In this thesis, through the market research and requirement analysis, a hotelmanagement information system was designed and developed which based on B/Sthree-tier structure. In the presentation layer, Adobe’s flash technology was used todesign the user interface. Meanwhile, a flash-based open source framework technologywhich named Papervision3d was used to achieve a three-dimensional booking interfacewith very personalized features. AMFPHP, a PHP remote call tool, was used on thebusiness logic layer as the communication bridge between front page and database. Themost popular open source database MySQL was used on the data layer, the variousoperations on the database were achieved through the built-in MySQL library functionsof PHP language.The final hotel management system which was designed and developed in thisthesis, almost covered all requirements and achieved the goal of the design. It has abeautiful interface, easy to use, easy maintenance and scalable features. A uniqueinnovation in the booking function of the system is achieved.
