With the railway construction in China, the railway operating mileage is increasingdramatically. Due to the rapid increase of the running speed of the train, so people on thesafety and reliability requirements of railway quality, efficiency and signal equipmentoperation is also rising. At present, the Chinese built a lot of high-speed railway. But the highspeed railway has the problem of resources waste serious, design and construction periodlimited, etc. So people want to be able to on the premise of quality assurance and efficientcompletion of the railway project. A new generation of high speed railway signal equipmentis advanced, runtime banned the maintenance personnel play during the day, in the daytimebanned the maintenance personnel enter during the train runtime, sky window time in theevening is less than ordinary train, so the software of maintenance can directly reflect railwaysite has a more urgent needs.In this paper use the component GIS software technology and concepts of BIM,developed a railway signal equipment data management and maintenance system based onGIS and BIM. This system is a part of the railway lifecycle, creating an intuitive visual datamanagement and maintenance platform. This system achieved the purpose of improve themanagement level, optimization of engineering design and construction, improve the qualityof the project, achieve maximum reasonable utilization of resources, improve the workefficiency.First, the paper first reported the research background of the project, then on the basis ofthe status quo BIM technology at home and abroad in construction on the railway for BIMtechnology applied to the basic theory has been studied, propose GIS and BIM integration andconvergence can give the railway tremendous value. Secondly, describes the system used inGIS and BIM concept and its application and some key technologies, which introduces thesystem development process used in the component GIS technology and used in the systemdevelopment of BIM related software system. After that, introduces the key technologies usedin the system. Thirdly, combining with the different requirements of each unit in the railwayprojects in China, regulate the business process and data process, analysis and design theoverall structure of the system, function module, database. Finally, in system implementation,the paper adopts Visual Studio2010as development environment, C#as the frontdevelopment language, SQL Server2008as the background database development. Theinformation system includes eight subsystems: visualization platform management, systemmanagement, plans and tasks management, parameter management, fault management,statistics inquiry management, data maintenance management and views management. After serious analysis and design of railway signal equipment data management andmaintenance system achieved good anticipated effect after put into use, meet the demand ofrailway proposed business. In a word,the use of this software has changed the railway in thedesign, construction and maintenance to maintain the low degree of informatization,collaborative difference, low efficiency, low security, chaotic management operation mode,realized the rapidness, high-effectiveness, energy conservation of railway projects, at thesame time meet the needs of the railway transport safety.
