Abstract:Computer network is the basis course of information engineering in colleges and universities. It is rich and abstract in content. So experiment teaching in computer network course occupies the important position. And at present, the virtual simulation experiment teaching platforms’flow is virtual. They are difficult to get started and have platform dependency issues. The development of virtualization technology brings us the opportunity of computer network experiment platforms’development. So this paper presented a computer network experiment platform based on the virtualization technology (CNEP).Firstly, the current situation of the experimental teaching of the computer network and virtualization technology was introduced. Then the existing problems of simulation network experimental platform were analyzed. In the paper, we proposed solutions based on virtualization architecture, and divided the system functions into several key modules such as the Web workbench, resource management, the remote access to resources and so on according to the requirement analysis. Furthermore, we put forward the corresponding solutions for the research and implementation of these modules. At the Same time, how to achieve and use the three key technologies of the automation control and management of the resources, topology mapping and storage, and server performance monitoring in the system was described in detail. Finally, we took the RIP experiment for example to introduce the operating condition of the system. Meanwhile, we tested the multi-user performance and optimize the parameters of thread pool.Experiment and test results showed that the system could cover most experiment in network courses, for example "Computer Network","Network Engineering", etc. And it could provide users with an experimental environment which is easy to operate, real in traffic, cross-platform and extensible.
