With the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, the road transport industry has become increasingly important in the economy and society. Meanwhile, it also brings energy consumption and environmental pollution problems, which have seriously hampered the sustainable development of economic, social, environmental and resources. Therefore, the effective implementation of road transport energy conservation according to the requirements of sustainable development has far-reaching significance to promote the advancement of China’s road transport industry. At present, the fuel consumption management requirements of road transport enterprises are increasingly high. Considering the difficult situation of fuel consumption real-time monitoring running vehicles, this paper developed on-board fuel consumption monitoring and daily management system based on a single chip and GPRS combined with intelligent fuel consumption testing technology, condition monitoring and network management technology. The main content includes some aspects as follows.Firstly, the fuel testing and the monitoring data transmission program was proposed according to the current vehicle fuel consumption detection methods, condition monitoring and network management technology after the secondary development of flow sensor. Additionally, the architecture model of the remote monitoring system management center was also described by comparative analysis of the two existing software architecture model, and then, the overall system design was determined.Secondly, control module, serial port expansion module, GPS module, GPRS module and power module in system were selected and described the features of each module briefly. Moreover, the corresponding peripheral circuit schematics of each module were designed, as a result, the vehicle terminal hardware testing system design was completedThirdly, as focus of vehicle terminal fuel testing system, the design of software program was completed, and the GPS receiver processes and effective GPRS wireless data communication processes were expounded in great detail. Besides, several common subroutines were listed, and the various functional modules of remote monitoring and management center database system were proposed briefly.The developed vehicle fuel consumption monitoring and daily management system not only can achieve real-time information exchange between drivers and remote management center to ensure that the vehicle running state perception for the drivers, but also enable the management center have the function of high degree of real-time, accurate and comprehensive dynamic perception. Through real-time fuel consumption calculation system to ensure the accuracy of the calculation of fuel consumption, loopholes in fuel consumption management would be eliminated in order to achieve better economic efficiency. Remote monitoring and management system can provide accurate data analysis capabilities and intuitive various reports. The application of this system combined with the fuel supply management plan can effectively improve the fuel waste situation, and the road transport enterprises eventually achieve the purpose of energy conservation and economic efficiency.
