With the rapid development of science and technology in modern society, the requirement of identification technology is more and more high for people, the traditional identification technology due to the presence of shortcomings as easily stolen, forgotten, lost and was copied and so on, people will gaze into the biological identification technology. In recent years, the development of biological identification technology is more and more quickly, and fingerprint identification is one of them, which in many biological identification technologies, such as face recognition, iris recognition technology and voice recognition technology, fingerprint identification technology with high uniqueness, permanent high, easy to collection and so on, has been widely applied to various occasions. The embedded system based on Linux has a special strong, high reliability, small volume low cost and so on, therefore, the fingerprint identification technology is combined with the embedded system to used in identity recognition technology has been widely applied.Firstly,this paper studied the algorithm of fingerprint identification technology, the algorithm was improved to make it better and faster to complete the fingerprint identification.Fingerprint identification algorithm preprocessed the image firstly, including the fingerprint image equalization,image normalization, segmentation, enhancement,binarization and refinement;Extracted the feather of fingerprint image secondly, and math the fingerprint finally.Secondly,this paper put forward to the embedded platform based on Linux operating system in detail,using the S3C2440embedded platform based on ARM9,combining with the fingerprint identification.Paper elaborates the build of Linux platform, including embedded system overview,the build of cross-compiler environment,the cut of Linux kernel,the edit of driving program and so on.The fingerprint sensor of this paper,s fingerprint recognition module is FPC1011, then the fingerprint identification system based on Linux was achieved in the UP-TECH2440platform, and conducted experiments to test. By testing the system, we can see that the system has a small volume, stable, fast identification speed and so on,so it suitable for the embedded products such as mobile phones, tablet PC and IC cards, making the volume of product is smaller, the carry is easier.As the sensor of this paper is linear, if the speed of fingerprint input is too fast,it will have an impact on the accuracy of fingerprint matching, in order to solve this problem, this paper uses two input fingerprint method, which to some extent increases the matching accuracy, the research results have certain significance for fingerprint recognition technology based on Linux.
