With the development of modern science and technology, the electromagneticcompatibility of electronic equipment receives more and more people’s attention. Theincompatibility of electronic equipment can cause electromagnetic pollution on theenvironment. Electromagnetic pollution, which brings safety hidden trouble to people’spersonal safety, not only causes serious damage to people’s health, but also causesmisoperation of electronic equipment.As a result, improving the electromagneticcompatibility of electronic equipment is crucial. As the metering products for energy meteringand settlement of electricity, it relates to the interests of power substation and the users, smartmeter is required not only measurement accuracy, but also the stable work in badelectromagnetic environment, not affecting by electromagnetic interference.So it’s necessaryof smart meter to be electromagnetic compatibility.The study of this subject is to improve the electromagnetic compatibility of the smartmeter. This article, which combes with the practical application of smart meter, introduces theelectromagnetic compatibility foundation theories, analyzes and studies the importantparameters of the electrostatic discharge immunity, electrical fast transient immunity, surgeimmunity, radiation immunity, conduction immunity, radiation harassment and conductionharassment based on the standard GB/T17215.211smart meter type evaluation and thenational standard GB/T17626-2,3,4,5,6and the GB9254-2008. And it puts forward thecorresponding test method and electromagnetic interference suppression technology forelectromagnetic noise immunity and electromagnetic interference, and gives the rectificationscheme for the fault occurred in the experiment. The main work is as follows:(1)Electromagnetic immunity test. According to the national standard GB/T17626-2,3,4,5,6, the test uses simulative generator (electrostatic discharge generator, burst generatorand surge generator) to make electromagnetic immunity test with smart meter. The articlegives the evaluation of measuring equipment, measuring method and measuring result for theelectromagnetic immunity test, puts forward the anti electromagnetic interference technologyof smart meter, analyzes the cause of the failure in the test, and does the correspondingimprovement for the scheme.(2)Radiation harassment. The article improves the test method of the smart meterradiation harassment, presents the method to rapid diagnosis radiated interference mechanism,according to the radiation disturbance model gives the suppression technology for thecommon-mode interference and the differential-mode interference, analyzes the reasons of smart meter excess radiation, and does rectification for fault.(3)Conduction harassment. This paper improves the test method of smart meterconduction harassment. Conduction harassment is also divided into common mode anddifferential mode. The most effective method for restraining disturbance is using filter to filter.The article gives the differential modes of filter, common mode filter and the importantparameters of filter—inserting loss. According to the insertion loss of the filter element, thispaper chooses the appropriate filter, making the smart meter meet conduction disturbance testrequirements.In the test, the test equipment and test method have been made some improvements. Thearticle gives the corrective measures for the test failure problems to improve theelectromagnetic compatibility of smart meter.
