Block Cipher algorithms play an important role in the field of information security.Reconfigurable cipher processing chip using the reconfigurable computing technologycan implement a variety of block cipher algorithms with hiring less hardware resources.Therefore reconfigurable cipher processing chip has high efficiency like ApplicationSpecific Integrated Circuit as well as high flexibility like General-Purpose Processor interms of computing, balancing the contradiction between the flexibility and thecalculation efficiency.The common structure and basic operation characteristics of block cipheralgorithms are deeply analysed in this paper. By designing four kinds of reconfigurablecomputing unit submodule, the most commonly calculations of common block cipheralgorithms can be implemented with high efficiency and flexibility. By adopting thecombination of static reconfiguration and dynamic reconfiguration as well as the lineararray structure reconfigurable interconnection, a kind of eoarse-grained reconfigurableprocessing structure of block cipher algorithms is designed.By successfully implementing the representative AES (advanced encryptionstandard), DES (data encryption standard) and commercial cipher algorithm SMS4onthe reconfigurable processing structure of block cipher algorithms, we can get aconclusion that the reconfigurable processing structure of block cipher algorithmswhich is designed in this paper can implement common block cipher algorithms withflexibility.
