If we can design a cipher processing chip which can run several cipher algorithms flexibly and improve the security of the cryptographic system with Reconfigurable processing technology, then it will have great value in millity, politics and economy. Aimed at the current sequence cipher algorithm, This paper design a Sequence Cipher Reconfigurable Processing Architecture combined with the research result and the key problems of the Reconfigurable Computing. I have finished the following tasks and got a serial of results:According to the Processing Architecture of sequence cryptograph and the characteristic of the basic processing unit, a kind of Sequence Cipher Reconfigurable Processing Architecture (SCRPA) based on feedback shift register combined with the research method of reconfigurable calculation and the crucial problems of the reconfigurable design is researched and designed. The SCRPA can be divided into two part according to the different calculation field of this kind of sequence cipher, the first is SCRPA-GF (2) based on GF (2); the other is SCRPA-GF (2~n) based onGF (2~n).According to the analyse of the basic operation of sequence cipher , I do some research and make a design on the Reconfigurable Processing Architecture of the basic unit of SCRPA-GF (2) and SCRPA-GF (2~n). The basic operation unit has the following part: feedback shift register over the field of GF (2) or GF (2~n), non-linear function, modulo addition/subtraction, shfit operation, S-box.This paper implement the prototype of the SCRPA-GF (2) and SCRPA-GF (2~n) on the FPGA. I reflect the algorithm of the SCRPA-GF (2) and SCRPA-GF (2~n), and then make an emulation and validation. At last I analyze the function and performance according to the result of the emulation. The experiment shows that the SCRPA-GF (2) and SCRPA-GF (2~n) are designed reasonably and can satisfy the requirement of most sequence cipher algorithm based on feedback shift register.The experiment shows that most cipher algorithm based on the feedback shift register performance very well with the SCRPA-GF (2) and SCRPA-GF (2~n). The conclusion is that, the SCRPA which is designed at my paper has the same flexibility as the general processing unit, at the same time it runs as fast as the specific cipher processing chip.
