With the continuous advancement of China’s international status and theincreasing of international communication, Chinese culture has won more and moreattention all over the world, resulting in the rapid growth demand of learning Chineseand Chinese culture. Confucius Institute Project, founded in2004, was also generatedwith the tide. The Confucius Institute distributes Asia, Africa, America, Europe andOceania in the past ten years. Until March2014, overseas Confucius Institute hasrisen to443. In recent years, culture go-out strategy has gained great attention byChina, Report on the Work of Government in2014repeated that we must acceleratethe process of culture “going out”, by the means of development of cultural trade andpromotion of the international communication ability, thus to achieve the goal ofenhancing China’s soft power.Based on the related existing research about Confucius Institute, this paperdiscusses the status of Confucius in the world culture on the basis of the propositionand meaning of the Confucius Institute, and analyzes the function of the ConfuciusInstitute on the basis of basic theory of international communication mode. Secondly,this paper analyzes the achievements, problems and obstructive factors of ConfuciusInstitute’s international communication, do a tentative exploration in countermeasuresto improve the power of Confucius Institute’s international communication. Then thispaper discusses the development trend of Confucius Institute’s internationalcommunication: to advance toward higher level of communication content, in otherwords, to output value concept, to diversify the communication means, and tostrengthen the two-way communication of culture. Finally, this paper discusses thepresent situation and development trend of Madrid Confucius Institute on the purposeof providing reference for the development of other Confucius institutes.The main point of views in this paper are as below:(a) The "going-out" strategyof Confucius Institute includes promoting Chinese teaching education, broadcastingChinese classical culture and build Chinese culture brand;(b) The deficiency of thedepth of communication content, which is the power of international communication,is the biggest problem for Confucius Institute, Therefore, the spread of the core ideaand modern value of Chinese culture should be strengthened;(c) The communicationcontent of Confucius Institute will go towards a higher level on the basis ofhigh-quality teaching material of Chinese culture, by the way that transforming traditional culture into modern forms, the focus is strengthening the spread of values;(d) The international communication methods of Confucius Institute shows a trend ofdiversification, in which becoming digital and networked is an irreversible trend;(e)The trend of Chinese culture "going out" and foreign culture "introducing in" is moreand more intensively, however, the combination if "introducing-in" and "going-out" isthe most harmonious state, eventually advance toward to the highest levels of cultureclash and blending.
