The financial industry of China has faced more and more competitive pressuresfrom international financial industry after China joins the World Trade Organization(WTO). There is the intense competition between commercial banks to attract clientsboth at home and abroad. The commercial banks obtain super-profit via providing thecustomers with financial service, so the resource of clients, specially the high-qualityone called VIP, is crucial to them. Foreign banks have established effective CustomerInformation Management System (CIMS) through perfect information platform toprovide differentiated services to different customer conveniently. So theircompetitiveness is much stronger by efficiently using customer resources. However,the domestic banks start late in this area, and have to solve the problems of poorfinancial information platform and a single form of financial services to meet thediverse needs of customers.In this thesis, the CIMS of commercial banks, which takes the customer as thecenter, is proposed to deal with the financial business problems exposed in Ycommercial bank of S city in Hunan Province. It can optimize the management ofcustomer information, expand the range of electronic financial services, and greatlyimprove the rural commercial bank financial business processing capacity. Firstly,this paper expounds the connotation of CIMS and its importance in the bankingbusiness management. Then combined with the actual situation in the city, theanalysis of CIMS and function characteristics of the system has been performed andthe existing problems have been pointed out. Secondly, according to the localeconomic development, financial characteristics and the needs of the customer groups,the architecture of browser/server is built by using the ASP.NET component ofMicrosoft.NET based on business layers then the novel CIM system facingcommercial bank is brought about. At last we use the reasoning model of data miningto further explore the potential demand, optimize the existing business process fromthe customer management, service management and system management, and expandthe new financial business to improve the existing customer relationship managementsystem.
