In modern communications systems, the digital communication is usedfrequently, but in this communication there always has the contradiction between thereliability and validity. With the rapid development of digital communications, andhigh-speed、strong-sudden new business’ emerging, the people’s requirement for thequality of the communication system and its transfer rate is also rising, whichprompted us to solve this contradiction as much as possible. The error correction codetechnology is a way to provide protection for the reliability of the communicationsystem, how to research and make good use of error correction code technology hasbecome a critical task, and bit error rate performance is the main criteria, that canmeasure the error correction code technology is good or bad. Therefore, the study onhow to improve the bit error rate performance of error correction code while keepingthe effectiveness of the system as much as possible is necessary. So this paper in thelight of this problem has researched.Firstly, this paper introduces several error-correcting codes, which are commonlyused to improve the reliability of communication system, and analysises thecommonly used method to improve the BER performance of error correction codes,against the contradictions between reliability and validity of the system, this paperhighlights several schemes, which are based on the energy allocation to improvesystem performance. The last part of this paper major proposes a new energyallocation scheme to optimize the system performance, which is based on a formuladerived from the Union Bound which can estimate the bit error rate for every positionin the codeword sequence.The main structure arrangement of this article is as follows:1, Firstly, digital communication system and channel coding technology isintroduced, and then, the development course of error correcting code and itsapplication in digital communication system is briefly described.2, List several common error correction code, and introduce its DecodingPrinciple, analysis commonly used methods which are currently used to improve thebit error rate performance of error correction code, and compare its merits and demerits respectively.3, Introduces the basic principles of Union Bound, according to the UnionBound derive a formula which can estimate the bit error distribution, and verify itsvalidity by simulation.4, Firstly, in theory proposes two new energy allocation scheme based on theformula which can estimate the bit error distribution. One scheme is to make the biterror rate distribution is a constant value, and the other is to make the average biterror is the minimum in theory. Then analyze them respectively, and test their effectsthrough simulation.5, Firstly, propose an improved scheme according to the defect of energyallocation, then apply this scheme to unequal error protection of Turbo codes, finally,through the simulation test its effect.6, Finally summarize this paper, and prospect to solve the contradiction betweenreliability and validity of the communication system.
