The history of video communication’s development is begin with the way of analog signal output. It evolved along with the development until now, become major with digital signal to output. However, because of the type of Data Computing Chips like DSP and FPGA which high-speed data operation being widely used, to quickly and efficiently computing a large amounts of data becoming quite simple. But these chips generally have the characteristics of powerful computing ability and difficulty controlling. For now, the versatility for video communications is highly required by increasingly demanding, this feature will not catch the development of modern technology. It must to adopt new technologies and means to solve this problem.This paper presents an embedded video communication system that uses a chip from Texas Instruments and its supporting related a software technology platform to achieve its function. The TM320DM365chip is adopted by author. This chip integrates an ARM core and associated video encoding processor. Coupled with the corresponding peripheral completed hardware architecture of the system. In the software, the author uses the embedded Linux systems to complete the u-boot, kernel and other compilation with transplantation. And detail to explain the methodology of the DaVinci technology to realize the related software functions. Such as video capture, encoding compression and network propagation.The system is using a series of supporting software which are developed by the DaVinci Company’s technology. It contains technology allows developers to achieve secondary development more convenient and rapid. And it can meet all the requirements by the current market requires for embedded video communications. Besides, it also has low consumption and low cost. There is a great market prospects to produce this product. Therefore, this video communication systems that based on DaVinci technology platform could have a high practical value.
