The development of modern society makes people pay more attention to security systems.Video monitoring system, which is the hottest topics in security systems have played crucialroles. This article through combining the TI Company newly released video processing chipDM365, with h.264image formats as output, analysis and designs an embedded videomonitoring system based on DaVinci technology. This system has the advantage such as lowerdifficulty of developing and small cast.This article first introduces the research background of video monitoring system and thehistory and development process of Video surveillance industry, introduces embeddedoperating system and the core part of the DaVinci technology, detailed introduces the workingprinciple of video monitoring system and the related important agreements. For h.264videocompression algorithm and related technology makes a detailed explanation.Considering of the system requirements, the article chooses the most appropriate fromseveral kinds of embedded hardware designs of video monitoring system scheme, introducesthe hardware design of important modules and principle diagram details. The part of systemsoftware design chooses to use NAND Flash for start up, with MontaVista Linux as embeddedoperating system, does many detailed explanations to key parts of the operation steps.Combined with front camera and signaling control module, the article has completed theembedded video monitoring system design. The results of the test in software and hardwaresystem design meet the requirements. Finally the article makes a summary and explored thesystem’s upgrading space.
