Our original children’s picture books started late, the gap between Western Countriesand China for nearly a century. Into the21st century, many picture books have beenintroduced from abroad, seizing the market of children’s literary, while also showing lackof strength of the original children’s picture book industry. In the terms of cultural, as acultural product, the American children’s picture books were introduced, which must beaccompanied by penetration and spread of values. This study is based on such a position,researching settings and communication characteristics of introducing version ofAmerican children’s picture books.This paper selects34picture books as research subjects. Commence with thecontent analysis, combining psychology and film theory, in-depth analysis spreadcharacteristics of the introduction of children’s picture book version of the U.S. Thispaper is divided into five parts. Introduction section discusses the general concepts ofpicture books, children will be defined as4-12years old. And explain the significance ofthe research and research methods. The first chapter, points out that the relationshipbetween its ideographic symbols, symbols and text symbols.In this paper, statistics come from34research subjects about the introduction of thetime, the introduction of Press, Folio, images of lead and supporting roles, themes,characteristics information as a basis. The second chapter focuses on the introduction ofthe U.S. edition children’s picture books content settings, and propagation characteristics.About content settings, sum and illustrated topics and role classification. Aboutpropagation characteristics, combined film theory and children psychology theory,discussing the communication between picture books and children, the use of details totransmit information, the use of a cinematic way, skillfully used layout rhythm. Chapterthree discusses the cultural, which not only has common aspects but also resistance.Whether the value passed to our children causes cultural encroachment or not cannot beconcluded immediately. Finally, proposing a study design in conclusion concludes.
