Internet of things is a new network concept based on the concept of Internet,which can extend and expand its clients between goods and goods to exchangeinformation. In recent years, with the advance of the Internet of things, the coverageis becoming more and more wide, the number of different type of network that makeup the Internet of things is also increasing.Gateway is regarded as the bridge of datatransmission and data conversion, the type and amount of gateway are changing fromsingle kind of gateway to various kind of gateways.The function of gateway influencethe function of Internet of things, so the selection and optimization of gateway iseffective and practical.This paper uses a new way to optimize the selection of gateway, which optimizesthe various kinds of gateways as a whole.This optimization method is much betterthan most optimization methods which are mentioned in other literatures.Becausepurely Internet gateway optimization can only solve the local network’s problems, butcan’t solve the problems in a global view, so this paper will design the gatewayselection and optimization in a global point of view.Firstly, according to the dynamic characteristics of network structure andapplication requirements of the Internet of things, this paper proposes an algorithmwhich optimizes and selects node from the sensing layer and make it become thegateway of Internet of things.This algorithm uses the improved particle swarm searchalgorithm, and takes the network bandwidth, residual energy of node and spatialdistribution into account to ensure that the selected gateway can satisfy the dynamiccharacteristics of Internet of things, and improves the imbalance characteristic of thegeographic distribution of Internet of things.Secondly, this paper proposes a multi-gateway load balancing strategy to solvenetwork congestion problems of Internet of things.When choosing multiple gatewaysto service the source nodes of Internet of things, assigning the load to differentgateways reasonably by different network link and the situation of different gateways in order to realize load balancing between different gateways and avoid thephenomenon of gateway congestion.Finally, we simulate the algorithm through the network simulation software NS2and evaluate the algorithm in four aspects:the average delay, group delivery rate,survival time and network cost in data transmission of gateway of Internet ofthings.The results show that the algorithm has better performance.
