The energy shortage and energy conservation have become a global issue, especially in resource shortage of electricity, road lighting electricity consumption occupies one fifth of the entire lighting electricity consumption and huge saving space. The city construction and the city streetlights requirements, and city streetlights intelligent monitoring system need a Intelligent streetlights monitoring system that is energy saving, convenient, efficient, and scientific, based on TWACS communication mode. As the application of automatic control of embedded system in the field of streetlights, it can not only solve the problem of saving energy, but also develp a trend of green lighting. It is a comprehensive scientific solution to the demand for simple control. It is not only conducive to the old system, but also greatly liberated the manual, automatic fault reporting. It provides a variety of strategies in lighting solutions to meet the different needs of different area lighting.Now streetlights control system is without feedback (without fault feedback), and can not control each streetlights; it has inadequate control scheme for single etc.. This paper studies a kind of intelligent monitoring system based on TWACS communication. Application of TWACS transmission in this system, with the maturity of GPRS technology, the system construction, configuration, is simple and convenient. Streetlights can not restrict remote monitoring region in the control center, terminal streetlights. It does not need wires to complete the communication task by streetlights power supply line original.
