Rudder/Fin Joint device can effectively reduce the rolling of the ship, and work to improvethe ship’s seaworthiness, safety and equipment on board and so on. Early Rudder/Fin JointControl system is mainly used for warships. With the rapid development of economy, people putforward higher requirements for the marine transportation safety and comfort, the Rudder/FinJoint system applications are gradually extended to civilian vessels. However, the domesticsimulation study for the joint control of the Rudder/Fin are mostly biased in favor of the resultsof mathematical modeling and digital output. There is few topics for this visual simulation, so wecarried out on this subject visual virtual simulation.Take a study on passenger ships, the Rudder/Fin Joint system works and virtual realitysimulation technology research. Built the three-dimensional model of passenger ships, propellerand Rudder/Fin Joint. Designed Rudder/Fin Joint virtual control simulation system and achievedthe Rudder/Fin Joint virtual control system in VRP software simulation platform. The mainworks are following:1)Analysis the works of Rudder/Fin Joint system on the basis of ship dynamics theory.Build the ship rolling motion of linear equations and the nonlinear mathematical model ofRudder/Fin Joint control system.2)By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different three-dimensional modelingsoftware, based on the structural characteristics of the research object to choose the3DS MAX.When modeling the structural characteristics seen in the model, using the model of optimizationprinciples to create three-dimensional models of the passenger ship, propeller, fin stabilizer andrudder, and materials, rendering and baking.3)In order to meet the practical realization of this project needs, the author proposed thetotal design ideas to achieve the virtual simulation of Rudder/Fin Joint operation andcontrol.Choose the VRP software as a virtual simulation platform, and used the VRP editor toedit the model to meet the basic requirements of virtual manipulation.4)Using the secondary development kit of VRP-SDK and C#object-oriented high-levelprogramming language to develop interactive interface. The users can manipulate virtual objectsfor study by the interface. Finally, the system is compressed package, the system can be used onany computer installed with Microsoft.Net Framework software, and achieve a cross-platformoperation.
