The goal of research on visual modeling for computer numerical simulation is to solve the question that data between existing commercial modeling software UG and FEA software SHEET-FORMING communicates only by identifying single file name, using computer numerical simulation technique. Visual modeling module software belongs to the Pre-processor of punch-forming nonlinear FEM numerical simulation software package SHEET-FORMING.Two contents are studied in this paper. One expands the communication of data flow between SHEET-FORMING and UG.. UG secondary development with VC 6.0, classifies each sub-region according to layers through the user definition menu in UG. Establishes layer information symbol for exporting data in UG. Through layering and arranging data with DXF of UG, entire model information can be written into SHEET-FORMING visual modeling module. The question of data communicating singly by sub-region name is settled. The other part is enlarging contents of sub-region in visual modeling module, and causing its application to be more widespread. Using C language as home language realizes sub-region increasement. Editing MOTIF graphic interface develop function optimizes interface of visual modeling module, and makes design more humanity. Using interactive visual modeling module can avoid user editing Pre-processor macro command text, and shorten modeling time with SHEET-FORMING Pre-processor, and reduce modeling difficulty. Software test indicates that the research is successful.
