Due to the rapid development of communication technology in recent years, a great changes have taken place in the core part of the network, Most transmission networks are used by fiber and achieved digitally, while little has changed in the access network., copper and traditional switching technology become the bottleneck of the whole network and user experience improvement, In the long run, the only way to solve the bottleneck problem of technology is optical access technology."Fiber Replace Copper " is put forward by China Telecom, based on passive optical network (PON) technology for the implementation on the important measures of fixed network access use fiber and achieve broadband. Passive optical network (PON) technology as a new mode of broadband access, which provides the bandwidth can meet the needs of the present and the future broadband business, and the equipment cost and operational management overhead costs are relatively low, making it possible to comprehensively promote optical access.In this dissertation, the research content mainly includes the following aspects: first, the preliminary study on the present situation of broadband access network technology, this dissertation introduces the basic idea of "Fiber replace copper". Second, the theory of FTTX, E/GPON technology principle and the key technology has carried on the comparative study and enumerate FTTB, FTTH case based on EPON technology. Third, the construction of Shaanxi Telecom "Fiber replace copper" strategy are studied, which including copper present situation like OLT, ODN, ONU deployment research, analysis of business requirements, also given the suggestions to the key points in the scene to take different construction patterns to make the conclusion of FTTH mode is fit for Shaanxi Telecom. Fourth, shows FTTX network construction plan refer to the practical situation of Shaanxi. Fifth, the dissertation introduces the No.53Middle School "Fiber replace copper" implementation scheme, and set up a test environment, from three aspects:line, network and voice to test, using a variety of mainstream application and actual voice call test entire network speed and quality of voice, to verify the effectiveness of the FTTH access.
