With the rapid development of Internet, the penetration rate of mobile tablet computer is higher and higher in the consumer population. the applications based on mobile tablet is rapidly increasing in terms of type and quantity. However, the screen of mobile tablet computer is smaller compared to the PCS, there is pressure to show a lot of information in such a small space, So, combing information hierarchy and building appropriate information architecture are important for the application. And, this paper is researching on combing information hierarchy and building information architecture based on card sorting.This paper do some researches on the information architecture of the mobile tablet application (APP), and use the card sorting method to explore the level of methodology, which is verifying through the specific case application. Specific research has two aspects, which is card sorting and information architecture. In card classification research, the research starts from recruiting target users to participate in the classification of function points, by observing the user classification process, we discuss the grouping of user cards, and get all the card grouped data. And then, by studying the user’s packet data, we discuss agreement parameters of the user group tag name, and determine tag name based on the level of agreement. Next, by analyzing the grouped data of function points, we discusses the probability of function points occurring in each group, and get the probability distribution table of function points in each group. Then, the research analyzes the probability of any two function points assigned to the same group and any two function points assigned to any one group. Finally, by analyzing the grouped data of function points with clustering analysis, the paper get the distance value between function points, and according to the distance value, we generate function point distance from the tree, displaying the relationship between function points in graphical way. In terms of constructing information architecture, through distance of the tree of function point, combined with packet number of function points as well as the tag name of each group, to set up information architecture of function points. In terms of assessment of information architecture, we use the evaluation method based on the card classification to evaluate the information architecture of mobile tablet applications, we correct problems of information architecture according to the evaluation results. Until we obtain satisfactory design result though multiple iterations.Finally, the paper combines a project of mobile shopping application (Veris) in Asiainfo Linkage technology (China) co., LTD. And reached a distinct glance, clear information architecture and accessibility user operation through reference to the above theories and methods, which verifies the validity of the research in the paper preliminarily.
