The requirement of data transmission speed is increasing highly in the moderncommunication technology,PCI_E bus with higher transmission rate replaced the PCI bus aheadgradually,and will become the next generation.bus standard.This paper designs a high speed datatransmission platform which based on PCI_E bus and suitable for multimedia digital voiceteaching,it realize the real-time datatransmissionbetweenPC and terminals.Based on in-depth understanding of the PCI_E bus interface technology,this topic completethe whole platform design finally by using programmable logic device as the control center and theclass of ATM(asynchronous serial communication protocol)technologyto accomplishthe real-timedata interaction.This design is divided into two parts on the whole including PCI_E dataacquisition card and network switch,which are descripted from two aspects of hardware logiccircuit design and software design respectively.Author introduce the PCI_E data acquisition cardfirstly,it realize data communication between PC and network switch.The bridge chip of PEX8311is used to complete communication between PCI_E side and local side,local side adopt CycloneIIIseries of FPGA belongs to Altera company as the core to complete data processing andcontrol,which realized by using VerilogHDL language.In this part author amitates the timing ofbridge chip PEX8311,put forward a transmission protocol based on ATM technology,combinewith technology of time division multiplexing and synchronous serial communication betweenframe to realize the real-time and no fault data communication,calls the dual port RAM macromodule and uses the interrupt mechanism came true by doorbell registers to realize ping-pongoperation,which ensure the continuity of data.In interface of data acquisition card and networkswitch,author introduces the serializer and deserializer,which can change parallel data intoserial,and complete the PCI_E side and network switch data interaction.by LVDS differentialtransmission form.Author introduces custom network switch Secondly.It is a bridge ofcommunication between PCI_E data acquisition card and terminals.Taking Cyclone series FPGAas the domination core to accomplish the separation issued data frome acquisition card and thecompound upload data frome erminals.Finally,the whole data transmission platform debuggingwork is presented,including the introduction of debugging software and the analyse debuggingresults. The PCI_E high speed date transmission platform can serve64terminals simultaneously,theaverage effective throughput rate between switch and terminals is up to364.0676Mbps,and thedate in the platform transfers at constant speed without broken signal.Above all,the PCI_Etransmission platformcan meet the needs ofaudio and video teaching.
