With the development of electronic technology and computer communication technology, the traditionalanalog language teaching system has been replaced by the more adcanced digital language teaching system.Digital language teaching system has free on-demand, real-time communication, multi channel resources openingand sharing characteristics, to better meet the needs of modern voice teaching. On the current domestic market, therepresentative transmission technology of network data technology includes two representative networks, they areEthernet and ATM network.The Ethernet technology and ATM have the function of computer network, which enable the networkteaching applied in classroom, the functions like independent study, online examination, groupwork cooperation,but the data transmission of Ethernet is to sacrifice the real-time to guarantee the integrity of the data, so in thetransmission of audio will appear delay and fracture phenomena; but in the non real-time video on demand, it hasthe characteristics of simple frame, transmission speed advantages. ATM network has the advantages of betterreal-time, no delay and fracture, stable, and not easy to be threaten by computer virus. While its shortcome lies inthe low speed during the transmission, only the voice, text, and a small amount of image data can be broadcast butthe vedio can not be done. For those reasons, some companies like Lancoo and Able-elec put forward a way tocombine the two tenworks in the language teaching lab to adjust to the modern individualized teaching. The thesisdesigns a terminal dispaly platform that enables the two networks work simultaneously basing on the multimedialanguage teaching system. After making a deep analysis on students’ terminal display demands in the languageteaching lab, the paper centers on the programmable logic device, STM32microcontroller is used as the middlebridge, and combine the user-defined8080interface protocol to achieve the communication between the peopleand computers.This thesis focus on the terminal dispaly platform design of the digital language teaching system. It makes adeep analysis of the two networks and discusses how to improve the refresh rate of the frame basing on the lowcost, simple design and original resolution. The solution has been worked out. also the author makes a deepanalysis of the design of LVDS transmitter and SDRAM controller and the user-defined8080interface timing,also, the ultrasonic intelligent pen has been applied in the language teaching system, which enables the studentsanswer questions online, makes drafting becomes more convenient and enrich the language lab’s teaching contentand methods.
