Nowadays, people are faced with a huge environmental and energy crisis.Todevelop sustainable and clean energy which has been attracted attention of the world,Wind energy becomes more and more important because it is an essential part ofenergy structure in the world. In this paper, we focus attention on the vertical axiswind turbine platform which is one of the Low wind speed wind power technology inHenan Province engineering laboratory research platforms, but these measurementsystem have big deviation and data processing is too complex. The support structure ofwind wheel with poor universality can’t apply to the different kinds of the vertical axiswind turbine test and the experimental instruments and the software operate weakly, itis not convenient for use. In order to solve the above problems, we should improve thedesign of the wind turbine platform and develop special testing software.Firstly, it is the hardware structure design of vertical axis wind turbine platform.Through the test requirement analysis, improved design of wind turbines specimensupport structure is based on the Return wind tunnel; platform uses new method tooptimize the equipment testing techniques and improve test precision by installing themulti-channel anemometer and virtual torque coupler and magnetic powder brake.These can lay the groundwork for the late platform software development by thecalibration quantitative torque and wind speed value of system error.Secondly, the development of experimental software is carried out on the basis ofthe hardware. Software development is mainly related to multi-channel anemometersoftware and virtual torque acquisition software, the former is mainly to capture thereal-time wind speed and air volume, the latter is gathering torque which comes frombetween the magnetic pole of the permanent magnet wind generator and rotates speed.Then quantify the torque and velocity parameter error through the actual calibrationtest, and calibrate the error parameters using VB programming language in the background of programming. In the last, integrate the torque parameter and windspeed and the wind wheel size parameter.Finally, after the completion of hardware design and software development, wecan find the disadvantages of the software through the real-time adjustment in verticalaxis wind turbine platform and improve the programming method of developingsoftware in order to improve the performance of software development. The runningtest of the wind wheel experiment concludes that the new platform function is versatile,Which can adapt to test different types of vertical axis wind turbine and thedevelopment of software, add the tip speed ratio and wind energy utilization rate andaverage torque and the average power etc. Moreover, the new software can bedisplayed in real time real-time curve of different parameters, and add the function ofdata storage, add the function of data label and parameter storage items.
