At present, the direction of development of High-Grade CN system from Europe and the domestic CNC vendors are complex and intelligent, networked and flexible. Domestic has made considerable progress in the field of high-end CNC system, but there is still a big gap with foreign countries.There is an absolute dependence on the numerical control system from abroad.High grade CNC system has always been a hot and difficult point in the research field of numerical control in China, and it has important strategic significance to develop high-end CNC system. In this context, the CIMS institute of HeFei University of Technology, the advanced CNC system technologies were studied, and on this basis, the general type of five axis linkage CNC system was developed and studied. Developing a CNC software which has good openness, easy structure of humanity and clear function module programming is an important part of five-axis numerical control system development. The mainly content of this paper is as follows:(1) Classified different types of five-axis machine tools, and Analyzed the kinematics model of five-axis NC machine tools. Based on it, designed the hardware of five axis CNC system, completed the software function module partition. Then, completed function analysis and design of processing module, tool management module, machine tool setting module and processing simulation module of CNC system software.(2) Guided by the software function design, completed the overall framework of five-axis NC software design with VS2010. Meanwhile, combining PEwin32, SQL sever2008 and OpenGL and other development tools and development kit finished processing, tool management, machine tool setting and processing simulation of four modules development tasks. And account for the realization of the key functions.(3) After completing development of five axis CNC system software modules function, each module function of software are tested alone, then the whole function of software testing is completed. Tests show that the software functions meet the design expectations, in line with the actual processing test conditions.(4) Finally, carryed the developed system software on the processing test in five-axis denture processing center. Test results show that the software has a good compatibility. The software has the actual processing ability of Five axis machining center of denture. And the processing samples meet the wear condition of the denture.In this paper, the developed five-axis CNC software for different structure of the machine tool has good compatibility and openness, and have the basic processing ability,laid a good foundation For the subsequent study of five axis CNC system.
