CMF is the abbreviation of Color, Material and Finish.CMF Design is amultiple-subject intersectional field that involves Industrial Design, Materials Science,Psychology. The traditional Home Appliance Market has been divided to serval parts whichstand by each brands. Nowdays, we should realize that the product’s function tend to besimilar. The emotional needs of customer is the most important thing deserved our attention.And CMF Design is just create for product’s kansei value. As to produce products thatsatisfy the needs of market and customer, we can depend on CMF Design to carry oncontinuous innovation from the aspect of Color, Material and Finish.This writer puts the theory of CMF Design into three categories:the Culture of CMF,the Application of CMF, the Administration and Marketing of CMF. Among the three, wecan find that the Culture is the base of CMF Design and is also the premise of Application.The Application is the core of this article and it can transmute CMF elements into a realproduct. The Administration and Marketing is help to maximize the interests ofcorporation.This research will follow the following flow: study CMF theory,propose the designprocess, practice the design and put evaluation summary. By the continuous research in theCMF theory, we have summarized a set of CMF design process suited for the Integrated TV.With full analysis and evaluate to the practice which was finished in my internship, we canapprove the correctness and practicability of the Application of CMF and the designprocess.In the article, we used various analyzing methods like trend analysis, userrequirements analysis, texture image analysis to extract the CMF elements which conformto the demand of objective users. But beyond that, the scientific analysis includingquantitative analysis and qualitative analysis can help getting a reasonable conclusion. Theresearch results show that:(1)The people whom consider the TV ’s shape firstly beforebuying has such characteristics—fond of popular, follow the purchase. This type is thehardcore of the middle-low classes.They have a relatively stable income and diversity demands in TV ’s shape. Modern style maybe their first choice.(2) We found the CMFdesign of household appliances show the following trend: one is the modern pioneer design,the other is humanistic sentimental design.(3)The experience of texture image showed thatthe brushed metal texture is more popular among the objective users.This project has to set foot in many other related subjects like Materials Science,Engineering Science, Product Semantics, Psychology. In the end, an integration of theoryand practice has laied a solid foundation for the research and application of CMF design onthe Integrated TV. And this approach also carried rational analysis on many perceptualquestions.
