At present, the laser is applied to the electronics, automotive, medical, aerospace and other fields,due to its inherent characteristics, however, leading to the high demand with indicator characteristicsfor power supply, general power supply is hard to meet the requirements, many laser manufacturers inthe domestic are required to import expensive laser power supply abroad. According to the need oflaser power supply, a kind of laser power supply system with maximum power of500W is designedand realized in this paper. Two levels of structure are adopted in this system, the first level is powerfactor correction circuit and the last level is DC/DC converter. The input is AC and the output is DC inwhole machine. The main job in this paper is to design the hardware and software of the system and tocoordinate modules so that the system can meet the requirements of indicators and can operatenormally for a long time.Combining with indexes and comparing a variety of topology, the main topology of the first leveladopting the active power factor correction circuit and the main topology of the last level using thephase-shifted full-bridge with synchronous rectifier circuit are determined firstly. Meanwhile thecontrol strategy is designed. Then the hardware circuit part and software circuit part of the system areanalysised and designed in detail. The hardware circuit part includes main power circuit, controllingcircuit, driving circuit, protection circuit, auxiliary power circuit, absorbing surge circuit, dischargecircuit quickly, sampling circuit and human-computer interaction circuit. The software circuit partincludes sampling module, display module, keyboard module, protection unit and D/A unit. Finallythe main test results of the principle prototype of laser power supply system and the future work arepresented in this paper.Simulation and experimental tests both show that: the prototype of laser power supply systemdesigned in this topic not only can meet the proposed requirements on indicators for the output power,ripple coefficient, efficiency, power factor, load regulation and surge overshoot, but also has a goodstability, heat dissipation effect, perfect protection and human-computer interaction, etc.
