The Design And Development Of UAV Ground Control Station

In recent years, UAV has been used in more and more fields and the research on UAV technologyis also becoming a hotspot.As the command and control center,the ground control station plays a veryimportant role in the UAV system.The subject designs a more robust UAV ground control stationwhich is based on existing one and is better to meet the flight test requirements.Firstly,the subject describes the background and significance of this research,analyzes theresearch status of domestic and foreign.The research objectives are the realizations of flight statusmonitoring,the airline displaying and waypoint editing based on Google Earth,the flight datarecording and processing based on database and the flight simulation based on FlightGear,which areproposed based on the inadequacies of the existing ground control station.First of all,the overallprogram design of the ground control station is introduced including the plans of task design andinterface design and the ways to realize the relevant functions.Then the detail methods of realizingthese functions are described,including the serial and UDP communication using multithread,thedevelopment of Google Earth COM API and KML files and the way to get the latitude and longitudecoordinates of the map where the mouse is clicked,the efficient storage and playback of the flight datausing Access database and the method of creating tables and fields dynamically,the use of Visual C++and Matlab to extract the data in the database to analyze and the realizations of flight visualsimulation by FlightGear communication interface.Finally,the testing results of the ground controlstation are given by connecting with the flight control computer.The summary and the follow-up workof the research is proposed.The test results show that the ground control station realized the required functions which areable to meet the relevant requirements of the flight and have good operational stability andimplementation efficiency.
