H.264video compression coding standard is jointly developed by the ISO/IECand ITU-T these two organization. Compared with the previous video compressioncoding standard, H.264standard has higher compression ratio and better networkadaptability, outstanding performance also makes H.264standard in videocommunication and video compression storage areas has been widely used.With the continuous development and upgrading of embedded technology, DSPas a professional video processing chip in the related field of research and practicalapplication is widely used.The Davinci series chips of TI company is adopted C64x+DSP chip,which greatly enhances the ability of parallel processing of the chip, at thesame time its efficient operation performance and rich external interface become theideal platform of video application system, While selecting the code open source x264encoder can be used as a reference model, which is great helpful for H.264standardresearch and application. Based on a variety of considering this paper selected theDavinci series TMS320DM6437as H.264standard encoder transplantation andoptimization platform.This thesis research is focused on the optimization of the H.264standard andthrough the x264encoder to complete implementation, finally optimized and appliedon the TMS320DM6437DSP platform, the main work is as follows:(1) First introduced the background, reviewed the history of the development ofvideo coding standard,and studied H.264video compression coding standard and keytechnologies.(2) After the analysis and comparison of choosing to select the open source x264encoder as a reference model, and in the PC of the optimization of the fast searchalgorithm for motion estimation,while improving coding efficiency to achieve asmuch as possible to reduce the computational complexity of coding optimizationgoals.(3) The characteristics of the Davinci platform has carried on the comprehensive research and evaluation, making full use of the advantages of DSP performance on thebasis of transplant the x264encoder to TMS320DM6437platform and optimizedsimultaneously from multiple aspects. Finally the applications of video compressionachieved on the multi-platform.
