Campus network is broadband multimedia network, which offer services of teaching,research, one-stop information for whole schools. As network has already deeply embeddedinto people’s daily life, campus network has become an indispensable part of the campuslife. Higher demands are given forth with the advancement in information science. Campusnetwork renovations and upgrade are the precondition and consequence at the development ofeducation information system adjusting to new times.HuaLian College campus network has been basically covered the whole campus afterthe assessment in2007. With the increasing popularity of network and web device has risensteadily, the overloaded core equipment has led to higher network loss ratio and slowerconnection. And it’s getting worse when it virtually paralyzed the whole campus. At the sametime, identity authentication scheme explained its shortcomings, which can not match the userauthentication. Campus network is in urgent need of upgrade and transformation in networkarchitecture and management.This paper takes the campus network of HuaLian College as an example to analyze theexisting problem, research a plan of upgrade and modification. Furthermore, the paper putsforward the upgrade of core equipment, such as changing from single core to dual core anddouble line; optimization of three layer network structure based on network hierarchicalmodel; establishment of campus wireless network and establishment scheme. And it exploresthe whole design and detail design, the upgrade of authentication system from802.1x to802.1x+China telecom "e-surfing" Portal double identify authentication. Applying differentkinds of authentication technology and correct user confidentiality, authentication andaccounting are implemented. Monitoring network flow and control through Professionaldeployment. It makes a conclusion of the paper and comes up with the prospects for furtherresearches on campus network. This paper discusses the analysis from the needs to the overallplanning on the campus network of HuaLian College. Under these circumstances, wediscussed every branch of network scheme.This essay features an upgrade based on the existing equipment with reduced costsand accomplished by stages. The plan began to be put into operation so that the problems of slow connection, network instability and incorrect accounting can be solved significantly.
