Improving service by using technology intelligently, one of the five laws proposed by Crawford andGorman, which indicates that it is necessary for us to apply appropriate technologies in the daily workof library in order to improve the service quality and provide personalized, intelligent and convenientservice for users with the rapidly development of technologies and applications. The Internet ofThings, which is a new technology contains sensor and network technologies, brings the third wave ofthe world information industry after the computer and the Internet. What kind of changes can thecombination of IoT and library bring? The personalized service is full of challenge today, under theenvironment of Internet of things that libraries how to offer and deepen the personalized service, willbe the focus of this thesis research.We do our previous researches based on the library science, management science and the modelingtechnique, taking advantages of several approaches, such as literature research, Contrastive Analysisand UML modeling. First of all, we investigate and analyze about34colleges’ situation of developingpersonalized services using the IoT technology based on the survey of the IoT technology,personalized services in libraries and the UML modeling. Then, we do a deep analysis in the userrequirements of personalized services in libraries of NUAA based on the questionnaire survey. At thesame time, we get some results of how to develop personalized services in the library of NUAA andfind some problems in the research of applying IoT in improving personalized services of libraries.We also put forward some advices and strategies on improving the personalized service in libraries. Atlast, we try to build a framework of personalized services of libraries in the IoT environment, which issuit for NUAA’s library. The system framework model and some analysis for each UML model arealso illustrated in the article, which demonstrates the contents of personalized services in the library ofNUAA, taking advantages of IoT techniques.
