Nondestructive inspection of ultrasonic is a method of the non-destructive testing technology, which plays a very important role in improving the quality and reliability of the production, and it has been widely used in steel, machinery manufacturing and the shipbuilding industry, etc.Researching about the welding line of the steel tube, this thesis develops the control and analysis software of the upper computer, and also designs the communication units in All-digital ultrasonic weld inspection system on the basis of FPGA and ARM structures.On the basis of large amount of conclusions about the background of the project, this article firstly develops the control and analysis software of the upper computer about the ultrasonic flaw detection system under windows operation system with VC 6.0 as the foreground development tool and SQL Server 2000 as the background data base. The software mainly contains the following function modules:(1) On-line testing module. Realizing the data exchange with ARM communication units via network service; and realizing the display of the waveform and the automatic alarm about the flaw; also automatically searching the information of the flaw according to the received data; automatically generating the report of the flaw detection which provides data support for the off-line analysis of the data.(2) Data processing and analysis module after testing. Being able to realize the display and printout of the testing results as well as to retrieve and make statistic analysis according to the existing conditions.(3) Database management module. Realizing the deletion, backup and recovery of the data for the data base.(4) Parameter management module. Realizing the adjustment, storage and load for the parameters.And then develops the communication units about ultrasonic flaw detection system under linux operating system using ARM as the development platform.Applying TCP/IP treaty in ARM communication units realizes the data transmission under C/S mode and networking of the flaw detection system, which also designs the data communication mechanism between ARM and FPGA to realize the data transmission under the asynchronous clock between ARM and FPGA.Through the laboratorial testing, the system performs well and has realized the expected goals of the control and analysis software of the upper computer. And meanwhile, the software has achieved function of the documentation about the waveform and parametric during the flaw detection as well as the automation of the results analysis about the flaw detection which has improved the working efficiency of the flaw detection and decreased the labor intensity of the workers.
