Design And Implementation Of Report Management System Generator For Web Application

The Report Management System Generator for web application is based on theproject of "Comprehensive Demonstration of Water Environment Management aboutLiaoHe River Basin". In recent years, as the number of business systems in this projectincreases gradually, the vast majority of business systems are required to provideseveral sophisticated functions of report. Report Management System can provide theoriented-service interface, by which business systems for web application could displayquery statistics output. Compared with that every business system includes the reportmodule, Report Management System could support mutiple business systems at thesame time as an independent report tool.Report Management System mainly contains a few major modules, includingreport editing system, report operator, data processor, report generator (ReportManagement System Generator for short) and monitor and so on. The report generatoris one of the core modules of Report Management System, which will offer the servicesto generate reports and output reports in a variety of different formats for system users.The task of this paper is to design and implement report generator. In terms ofdesign, this paper describes the functional and non-functional requirements of thesystem in detail, divides the business process of report generator into severalfine-grained, well-defined services based on SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)theory, and specifies the service model of report generator. The main service modelincludes Request Listener service, Report Analysis service, Data Extraction service andReport Output service. In terms of implementation, combined with XML, JSPtechnology as well as a few third-party components, this paper analyzes the input reportdocument in XML format, extracts data from the business system database, fills in dataand outputs report in some kind of format on the J2EE platform. The report generatorhas been realized and tested already, which proves the fine effiency of generatingreports and the data consistency of the output report should accord to. The reportgenerator shortens the development cycle of these business systems and improves theirperformance, which can be deployed and maintained easily with good extensibility.
