Incoherent Scattering Radar (ISR) is the only equipment which can detect therange of the whole ionosphere height plasma parameters. Researching ISR systemsimulation platform has become an important researching measure of modern radartechniques because of its expensive cost. This paper based on ISR detection theory,using MATLAB development tools to build a set of fully digital ISR systemsimulation platform. The platform based on the actual system of radar equipmentstructure, working process and the environment, according to the module to simulatestep by step and recombination, which is to provide a living, economic, efficient andoriginal test platform for developing radar prototype. Combined with the measureddata and software provided by the European Incoherent Scatter Scientific Association(EISCAT), to research the data processing method of ISR. This paper is providingtheoretical basis and application value for improving the performance and detectioneffect of radar. Following is the main work:Firstly, according to ISR functional demand analysis, proposed ISR systemsimulation platform design proposal. Implement the simulation of the simulationplatform of five modules by using the MATLAB software, including signaltransmitting and receiving, signal processing module; incoherent scattering spectrumsimulation module; ionospheric parameters analysis module; radar power simulationmodule; antenna array simulation module, etc. Then through the module software testto demonstrate the rationality and validity of each module design.Secondly, researching the method on scattering signal power spectrum to extractionospheric parameters; and combined the mass measured data provided by EISCATand the incoherent scattering data analysis package GUISDAP to experiment andanalysis, in order to further discuss the data processing method of ISR, and got somevaluable conclusions.
