The improvement of managerial and medical service level in modern hospitalsgreatly depends on the development of Hospital Information System (HIS). Public healthawareness of health and disease prevention has gradually increased with the improvementof society development and living standards, and more and more people will go forphysical examination routinely. Therefore, Health examination information system (HEIS)has become the essential part of HIS. However, current versions of HEIS suffer, more orless, from a variety of problems that have encumbered the rapid development of healthexamination. Aiming to partly solve this problem, we have designed and developed thepersonalized health examination information system (pHEIS) on top of the currentinformation platform that has been used in our hospital. The pHEIS is custom-made suchthat it can utilize various resources available in our hospital and promote responsibilitiesof related clinical departments.Based on the.NET framework, the pHEIS includes definition of database structure, maintenance of database, and deployment of client applications. The pHEIS uses VisualStudio2008as its development platform, SQL Server2000as its database managementsystem, and ASP.NET as its webpage design tool. This dissertation has analyzed the theoretical and technical background and system requirement, designed the databasestructure, and developed the interface with other HIS and all the other function modules. This pHEIS extends the current HIS in our hospital. All functions have been testedand the results show that it can function properly as designed, as well as communicatewith the current HIS with high compatibility. It seems that the pHEIS has partly solved theproblems in other health examination information systems. We conclude that the pHEIScan meet the requirements from patients, clinicians and hospital, improve the convenience, quality and efficacy of the health examination service.
