Infrared Simulation is the key technology of defensive power, playing an importantrole in the field of military and civil affair. By analogizing the infrared radiationcharacteristic of bridge and urban scene based on OpenFlight model, a general infraredsimulation software system is developed. This system have solved the difficult problem ofour own infrared simulation system in the military field, and also has the characteristics ofsimple input.Based on the OpenFlight model of general bridge and huge urban scene, we havedone deep research around the infrared simulation technology, mainly including thefollowing aspects:First of all, a new general modeling method for bridge based on the OpenFlightmodel is proposed by analyzing and simplifying the structure of bridge, making thegirder-type bridge, suspension bridge, arch bridge and cable bridge a general modelstructure.Secondly, aiming at heat characteristics of box girder, cable, railing and other typicalpart of bridge, the computational model for infrared radiation characteristics is built byconsidering a variety of natural factors. Then, a new method of urban scene infrared simulation is proposed. This paper solvethe problem of how to construct3D city models based on OpenFlight API by usingshadows and terrain information extracted from Google Earth aerial photo. And also theproblem of computing the infrared radiation property and generating the zero-sightinginfrared texture offline is solved. At last, a general software system is developed, based on the OpenFlight API andVC++6.0platform, considering a variety of natural factors, times and locations. Thesoftware system has advantages like convenient operation and less memory consumption.
