In modern industrial measurement and control system, how to improve theportability and the flexibility of measurement and control system, reduce costs,improve the scalability, and achieve real-time monitoring and management in thewhole process, which has always been an important direction of the research. TheZigBee wireless networks, which rise in recent years, has the advantages of lowcomplexity, low power, low data rate and cost. ZigBee technology are applied to dataacquisition and transmission of industrial measurement and control system, whichachieved the intelligent control of this system, reducing the costs in a large extent, andeliminating the trouble of cabling. And the scope of application is further expand.The light pen coordinate measuring machine is a portable coordinate measuringdevices. But the cable transmission makes the system to be not flexible enough, or themeasurement range is limited, which greatly reduced the efficiency of the on-sitemeasurement. Therefore, making the system upgrade for the wireless transmission isof great practical significance. The light pen-based coordinate measuring systemrequires the wireless network to be with low power consumption, high reliability andclose-range. Thus, we select ZigBee technology to build the wireless transmissionnetwork for the measuring system. In this paper, we use the ’solution of TI ZigBeeSOC, which uses CC2530wireless micro controller as the core chips of wirelessmodule, and chip CP2102transforming USB to UART to complete thecommunication between coordinator node s and the host computer.The main work completed in this paper is as follows:(1) Comparison and analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds ofwireless transmission technology and applicable occasions, and combined with theactual demand of measurement system, and finally determine solution of TI SOC chipCC2530F256, combination of TI Z–Stack protocol Stack authentication by ZigBeealliance.(2) Research on ZigBee network process and how to construct a reliable wirelesstransmission network. On the basis of the Z–Stack design a ZigBee wirelesstransmission of Mesh network structure, which can realize arbitrary nodes may direct communication.(3) To meet the actual needs of the measurement system, we complete theformulation of the transport protocol in the measurement system and programming ofthe procedures, and achieve reliable transmission of data and control signals betweenthe light pen, camera and computer.(4Design a MFC host computer operator interface in the developmentenvironment of Visual C++6.0, and achieved the real-time control of the light penand camera, and display of the status of implementation in measuring process.(5) In the last, we conduct tests in performance of the ZigBee network andanalysis the results.
