The development of computer network technology has brought a series of major changes to the field of industrial automation. Especially, the combination of such technology as the configuration software, databases, networks information etc, makes the industrial automation control system develope toward the direction of automation control, remote monitoring and the integration of management and control. The subject we did just following these trends of the time, According to workmanship process and monitoring requirements in the dewatering process of belt type sludge dewatering machinery, a local and remote monitoring system about sludge dewatering is designed by the use of Web Access and VC programming.According to the characteristics of the sludge dewatering process, the overall structure of sludge dewatering monitoring systems is divided into three layers in this article:device layer, local monitoring layer, and remote client. The device layer consists of input and output module and video collection module. The input module contains the Advantech input devise, electromagnetic flow meter, and concentration meter. The output module consists of Advantech output devise and the inverter, which is used to control the output of dosing pump. The local monitoring layer consists of WebAccess project node and scada node installed in the industrial control computer. The interface based on Modbus protocol is configured in the scada node, and communicate with each device of the device layer via RS-485bus. The remote client consists of the WebAccess client and remote video monitoring client developed via VC++, thus the user login client can monitor the site of production situation in real time.First, this paper describes interface design and system management functions of sludge dewatering monitoring system and introduce the principle of sludge dosing algorithm. Secondly, according to the the relationship between the inverter output frequency and flow, inverter within the PI controller to regulate the output of the pharmaceutical flow is adopted. Finally, real-time trend curves are used to show the changes of dosing flow. In addition, according to hikvision video capture cards provided by the sdk development packages, the corresponding functions of the remote video monitoring are developed.As is production practice shown that sludge dewatering remote monitoring system developed in this paper is able to complete the whole process of local and remote monitoring of sludge dewatering. Since the system combines technologies such as database and network and allows users to make centralized monitoring and management, it is more suitable for modern production.
