The application of ultraviolet(UV) is more and more widely, such as the UV curing technology applied in MEMS devices encapsulates, the UV ink applied for printing industry, and UV mutagenesis technology applied in wastewater treatment. These applications are required measuring the UV energy and some other environmental parameters, such as temperature in order to use UV more effective.A monitoring system is designed in the dissertation through sensor technology, computer technology and communication technology. The composition of the system includes two parts:monitoring terminal and monitoring center. The monitoring terminal use MSP430F425 as the microcomputer of the system. The system designs UV detector and temperature detector base on G5842, Pt100 and LM358 to collect signal. The wireless data transmission module JZ862A is used to remote monitoring UV energy and temperature. The system uses common communication agreement Modbus in data communication. The inherent code and the user-defined code of Modbus is used to realize the various function in the system. The memory-chip FM24V10 of Ramtron is adopted to storage the historical data through I2C bus. The USB module is designed by the bridging chip PL2303. The monitoring terminal can connect with PC through the USB module, then solve the problem of the serial port laptop lack. The system can realize multicast monitoring through RS232 or RS485 serial communication. The monitoring software is accomplished by VC6.0.It uses some controls, such as MSComm, MMCI, MSFlexGrid, Tab Control and EXCEL related technology. The system realizes many functions include communication, alarm, data storage, historical data check etc.The system realizes on-line monitoring to UV energy, temperature and historical data storage, real-time data show on LCD or PC. The monitoring software may display alarm music when the environmental parameters reaching a predetermined alarm value. The system has low pressure testing function. The system can alarm when the power is lower than voltage threshold 3.4 V. The function is avoided system abnormal working due to insufficient power supplies.
