Equalizer is a sound processing equipment used to adjust the frequency response curve of sound signal. It is a important part of the mixer. Equalizer divides signal frequency into various frequency bands. Users can promote or reduce the different frequency band of voice signal according to the actual situation to reach to a certain sound effects. Along with the computer technology and the digitized fast development, the digital parametric equalizer also become the most advanced equipment in the equalizer field. Compared with the traditional equalizer used analog technology, digital parametric equalizer has some advantages like small size, high precision, less influence by external environment and easy to upgrade,etc. In current domestic market, the core technology of digital parametric equalizer monopolized by Europe and Japan corporation mostly. Right now domestic companies have not been found independent intellectual property rights of the mature product.In recent years, DSP used widely in digital audio processing field because of its strong data processing ability, especially for handkong large amounts of data real-time audio fields.This paper introduces the situation at home and abroad and the development of the equalizer, the will be docusing on the research of digital filter algorithm. This paper firstly presented and deduced the algorithm of digital parameter equalizer, then using the MATLAB simulation the algorithm and building a system that can adjusted nine frequency band digital parametric equalizer at the same time. Finally I choose the suitable chip(TMS320VC5402) according to the cost, chip performance,etc. This paper designed the digital parametric equalizer based on DSP and built the software and hardware platform.
