Research On Risk Management Of Unexpected Natural Disasters For Archives Establishment

China is one of the countries with the most serious unexpected natural disasters whichtake place frequently and widely. On the one hand, the abrupt natural disasters can causemajor personnel and property losses; on the other hand, they does damage to thenon-renewable archives generally. Archive department is the important place which storagesthe Archives. Archives bear the weight of knowledge storage, historical records and inheritingfine culture. Once, the archives that have extraordinary values are destroyed, and the lossesare very serious. The abrupt disasters such as earthquake bring many challenges to thearchivists. If the abrupt natural disasters take place, the result is devastating for the archives.Based on the feature of abrupt natural disasters, the influences are discussed in detail.Meanwhile, the risk factors and the management problem are analyzed. According to studyresults above, the recognition of archives risk and evaluation methodology are study deeply.And then, the control measures and strategy of archives risk are put forward to achieve thepurpose of Archive security management.We hope it can offer the basis for archives riskmanagement under the conditions of similarity.This paper includes four chapters. the research background, importance,status of thesubject and Innovation are introduced in part one. In part two the definition and feature ofabrupt natural disaster are introduced simply. It analyzes the classification of abrupt naturaldisaster and the effect to archival, and set the foreshadowing for the later discussion. In partthree the constitution and feature of archival risk are introduced. Through dividing the archiverisk management factors into three parts including social environment factor, natureenvironment factor and human factor, the systemic problem and the cohesion problem arediscovered for the archive risk management. Chapter four emphatically introduced that thearchival department’s risk management strategy to respond the abrupt natural disaster. Therisk management measures that respond the unexpected natural disaster are discussedaccording to risk identification, risk assessment and risk control in detail. Take the earthquakedisaster for example, The application and demonstration are carried out according to the flowrisk identification, risk assessment and risk control.
