Study On The Improvement Of Political Counselors’ Professional Abilities At Sports Colleges

The counselors of physical education colleges are not only the main staffs for college students’ ideological and political education,but also the basic strength for dealing with students’ conventional college life.Nowadays,at the peak of the development of the Internet age,with the influence of social environment,educational revolution and developmental changes home and abroad etc.,students’ ideological trend and psychological activity are changing synchronously.There is no doubt that all these will bring up new demands for the counselors’ work in the new era.The article regards Xi’an Physical Education University’s counselors as the objects of investigation.Under the standard guidance of college counselors possessing professional ability,I employed questionnaire survey,literature method,mathematical statistics and interviewing method and concretely analyzed the factors affecting the counselors’ development of professional ability in terms of the basic condition of counselors,their social benefits,job content,academic research,career development these five aspects.The factors are:insufficient impetus for self-construction and development,unclear professional role,inadequate recognition level from the college to the counselor etc.Due to the particularity of our college’s counselors,we should put forward some countermeasures to promote their professional ability according to their professional ability construction,hiring system,diversity training,impeccable appraisal,promotion,and incentive system etc.Through the research,I have come to the following conclusions.(1)Through the standard of counselors’ professional ability,we can find that sport college counselors’ professional ability is constantly being constructed.Ranks(primary,middle,high),regulations for years of working,the content of nine aspects and requirement for layers of ascension have illustrated that the promotion of the counselors’ professional ability must impose seven abilities on counselors: organization and construction,ideological and political education,conventional things’ management, the ability to provide students with career guidance,the capability for scientific research,the ability to deal with the unexpected incidents as well as the ability for psychological –health education.And according to the particularity of the sport university,we should emphasize on organization and construction, conventional things’ management, the capability for scientific research and the ability to deal with the unexpected incidents.(2) Xi’an Physical Education University belongs to one of the six sport universities nationwide and it is the only sport university northwest.It has a long history and it’s representative.The paper regards Xi’an Physical Education as an example,in the analysis of the sport university counselors’ present professional ability,from the three perspectives of the department heads of students,counselors,administrative instructors,aims at the university and analysizes the counselors’ five-aspect working condition.And it also made a five-level evaluation to counselors’ professional ability,indicating that the elements affecting the promotion of counselors’ professional ability are insufficient impetus for self-construction and development,unclear professional role,inadequate recognition level from the college to the counselor.(3)In order to promote the counselors’ professional ability,I would like to put forward three countermeasures.First of all,improving self-construction.Second,we ought to combine the practical situation and enhance creative ability.Last but not least,improving hiring system towards counselors and strengthening diversity training,impeccable appraisal,promotion,and incentive system.
