The Status Of Professional Ability Of College Counselors In Shaanxi Province

As an important part of the ideological and political work team in colleges and universities,counselors undertake the important mission of college students’ ideological and political education and daily life management.As a special group in colleges and universities,counselors are both cadres and teachers.The professional ability of counselors has a direct impact on the adult talents of college students.College students are the pillars of the country,the hope of the nation,and the powerful main force in the development of the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.The improvement of college students’ comprehensive quality and future development are closely related to the professional ability of counselors,so it is urgent to improve the professional ability of counselors.Based on the local undergraduate universities in Shaanxi Province,this paper investigates the professional ability of counselors and focuses on the following aspects:First,the basic connotation of counselors,counselors’ professional ability,Marx’s theory of all-round development of human being and the theory of career development stage is understood by consulting relevant literature.Second,a sample survey is carried out on the counselors of local universities in Shaanxi Province to understand the basic situation of counselors and the status quo of their professional ability,analyze their existing problems and reasons,and provide a factual basis for putting forward corresponding countermeasures.Thirdly,based on the survey results and in view of the actual situation of local undergraduate universities in Shaanxi,this paper puts forward suggestions for the improvement of the professional ability of counselors,aiming at optimizing the team of counselors and improving their professional ability.The main contributions of this paper are as follows: First,the present situation of the professional ability of counselors has been deeply investigated.Based on local undergraduate universities in Shaanxi Province,this paper collected 210 questionnaires through online and offline questionnaires and interviews.The survey design was conducted by a wide range of schools,multiple majors led by counselors,and a large number of samples,laying a foundation for putting forward countermeasures.Second,the factors affecting the improvement of the professional ability of counselors are deeply analyzed from the perspectives of the state,universities and individuals,and the obstacles faced by counselors in the process of improving their professional ability are deeply analyzed.Third,put forward the corresponding countermeasures from the national,university and individual levels.First of all,the state should improve the selection and security system of counselors,create a good social environment,improve the social status of counselors,and enhance the sense of self-efficacy of counselors.Secondly,colleges and universities should innovate training methods,carry out effective training,and improve the corresponding incentive measures;Finally,individuals should continue to strengthen the summary and reflection,optimize the development ideas.The state,colleges and universities and individuals should exert their joint efforts to promote the professionalization and professionalization of counselors and build a team of counselors with strong theories,excellent professional skills and expertise.
