All countries(regions) in the world have realized that it is the vital fundamental for them to take part in the international completion with reforming and developing the education. Therefore, every countries(regions) has been reforming it, the mainland and Taiwan region as well. Besides this, they both pay attention to the reform of the education. As known to all, both regions have different social systems and different life styles. As a result, it is a must that there are differences between ideological patterns and that there are differences between teaching styles focusing on the fundamental education. This thesis will analyze and compareexhaustivelythe main factors of teaching from the reading of the classical Chinese, including the teaching targets, teaching materials,teaching methods, value orientation of teaching, the selection of the contents and so on. Depending on the data and documents, it will be a better way to understand the recent teaching of the classical Chinese in Taiwan region. What’s more, it can be applied into the interactive communication of teaching between two regions to promote the development in Chinese education.This thesis will focus on the comparison the reading of classical Chinese between the Mainland and Taiwan region. both sides of China mainland and Taiwan region’s education are concerned with basic education as the core of education reform, both sides have offered the programmatic document of elementary education reform and new curriculum standard. They have a common language and culture. But due to the differences of regional, political and economic system, the different cultural consciousness, lots of reasons cause certain differences on the selection of teaching material contents and layout. But when compared, learning from each other’s strong points to offset weakness,it will have a great role in promoting Chinese language-teaching to the world.Chapter One, namely the introduction part, summarizes the research background, motivation, and reviews the related studies, as well as the related research methods, etc. Both sides of the language education each have its own characteristics; the mainland emphasizes the basic knowledge accumulation, while Taiwan region attaches great importance to the traditional thought of nourishing personality. There are few relevant domestic comparison works on both sides of the teaching design research, and if so, they are lack of systematic and theoretical methods. The author tries to find out the differences and similarities between Chinese teaching design on both sides, to explore the general rules of Chinese teaching in Taiwan region, to provide certain reference for the perfection of the mainland Chinese teaching design and development. Chapter two will have a specific comparison value-orientation in Taiwan region and the Mainland on classical Chinese reading teaching, in order to mining similarities and differences of teaching concept. Chapter Three will China’s mainland and Taiwan region, compare the teaching goals of classical Chinese reading and have an analysis of the different targets on hierarchy and the concrete content. In Chapter Four, teaching contents of classical Chinese reading will be analyzed. In chapter Five, teaching methods of classical Chinese reading in the mainland and the Taiwan region will be compared, combining with the analysis of the content of the chapter two to five, the sixth chapter will conclude the paper’s highlights and give some suggestions.The chapter seven will conclude the revelation and advice depending on the chapter two to six. Apart from this, it will point out the result of this thesis. This thesis will conclude that not only we should pay attention to the put-in of the traditional culture, build-up of a better education system, but also we should strengthen the curriculum assessment.
