Modern theory considers that head teachers are the educators, organizers, managers of the class who concerned about the overall growth of students. They also are the mainly "spirit of caring" and the "significant others" of students. The secondary vocational education plays a very important role in education career, therefore, the head teachers’ vocational spirit will affect the healthy growth and development of students. Therefore, concerning about the development of head teachers’ vocational spirit is also paying attention to the development of secondary vocational education. This research aims to acknowledge the status of head teachers’ vocational spirit in secondary vocational school, providing a factual basis for the further improvement of management of head teachers and enhance the head teachers’ vocational spirit.According to the existing research, on the "vocational spirit", the relevant researchers discussed vocational spirit in education, medicine, journalism, library science, civil servants and so on in varying degrees. Most researchers explored the vocational spirit from their respective areas. On the "vocational teacher", mostly studies on the head teachers’ job content,responsibilities, professional development, assessment and so on in secondary vocational school, there are few studies on head teachers’ vocational spirit of secondary vocational school.This thesis studies the definition, situation analysis, and promotion strategy of head teachers’ vocational spirit in secondary vocational school, which mainly consists of five chapters.The first chapter includes the research background and status, and expounds the theoretical and practical significance, innovation, research ideas and methods of this research.The second chapter mainly analyzes the relevant concepts to draw the theoretical basis for this study. The thesis considers the head teachers’ vocational spirit in secondary vocational school should consist of three parts, which are included in the composing(1) the head teachers’ vocational recognition, which is embodied by the vocational vision, vocational attitude and vocational skills.(2) The head teachers’ vocational feeling, which is embodied by the love and honor from the job.(3)The head teachers’ vocational will, which is embodied by the vocational responsibility, vocational discipline and vocational style.In the third chapter, striving to get the first hand details which as the supporting basis of the thesis. I design a questionnaire about head teachers’ vocational spirit in secondary vocational school based on the existing theory, 215 head teachers are studied who from 7secondary vocational schools in Guangdong province. Additionally, I interview 12 head teachers of secondary vocational school by my own designed interview outline.In the fourth chapter, it is based on the data analysis of the empirical research. It mainly analyzes the existing problems of head teachers’ vocational spirit in secondary vocational school from eight aspects, which are vocational vision, vocational attitude, vocational skills,vocational love, vocational honor, vocational responsibility, vocational discipline and vocational style.In the fifth chapter, it mainly thinks of the status of head teachers’ vocational spirit in secondary vocational school. Combined with the existing problems, and proposed some countermeasures to cultivate and enhance the status of the head teachers’ vocational spirit in secondary vocational school.
